Wild beauty

The start of the season in New Hampshire was rough. High, cold water, ice lingering for too long, not even one strike in places where previous springs were very productive. It forced me to search for new water, and after multiple trials and a few missed fish, this guy showed up in a non-stocking location.

Strong, angry and in excellent shape. After 2 leaps and a lot of work from my 4 weight, I was able to land it, take a few pictures and return it to the wild, where beauties like this belong. It measured roughly 56-58 cm (22-22.5 inches). The 4th silver mark on my rod is at 60 cm. On the negative side, nobody was with me to take a picture of my big grin while holding this fish.

Long time no see!!!

First I have to apologize to those people who returned to my blog in 2011 despite lack of new posts. I did take a break, for certain personal reasons, but I'm back. This winter I intend to post a retrospective of fishing and traveling adventures during 2011. It was a great year (except the weather) and there are a lot of nice (I think) pictures to be posted, it's only a matter of time...

Here are some samples:

Thanks!
